Albany and Rochester Come out for Immigration Reform

Coming off the heels of the massive demonstration of support for immigration reform in Washington DC last month, the NYCLU and our allies have been taking the fight LOCAL.

Today, coalitions in Albany and Rochester took to the streets to show visible support for moving forward on comprehensive immigration reform.

In Albany, more than 50 people turned out for a rally in front of Senator Schumer’s office and dozens took to the streets in the Rochester suburb of Brighton for a candlelight vigil in support of immigrants’ rights. These actions mirrored rallies, demonstrations, vigils and festivals today in Seattle, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, Providence and El Paso, among others.

Our movement is not a downstate one or an upstate one. It’s not even a New York one. It’s a national movement with voices in support of reform from cities and towns, big and small, across the country.

It’s time to add your voice!
