New York City faces many daunting problems. Yet\, the challenge of how to effectively promote and defend New Yorkers’ civil rights and liberties is often one of the most difficult and controversial to tackle.
The office of public advocate for the City of New York sits right at the center of that challenge. The public advocate’s office serves as a direct link between the citizens of this city and its government - effectively acting as a watchdog for all New Yorkers.
