The NYCLU’s going to Washington to fight for immigration reform.

Get on the bus!

Our broken immigration system has led to a civil rights and liberties crisis in New York and across the country. The NYCLU and our allies are mobilizing in Washington, D.C. to ensure that President Obama and Congress pass comprehensive immigration reform this year that protects everybody’s rights. Thousands of people will be there. Will you?

Oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in our landmark challenge to FISA Amendments Act of 2008 will take place in Manhattan on Friday, April 16.

The NYCLU and ACLU filed the lawsuit in July 2008 to challenge the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which gives the government virtually unchecked power to intercept Americans’ international e-mails and telephone calls. The NYCLU and ACLU argue that the new spying law violates Americans’ rights to free speech and privacy under the First and Fourth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
