Project Liberty -- the NYCLU's very own TV show -- is an exciting new way to engage New Yorkers on the civil liberties issues affecting their lives.

The show's latest episode, currently airing across the state, focuses on the NYCLU's 60th anniversary and its relentless fight for fair marriage laws in New York State and nationwide.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m., as part of the NYCLU's continuing Civil Liberties Discussion Series, NYCLU New Media Associate Alberto Morales will host a screening of Project Liberty and discuss our vision for the program moving forward.

Join the NYCLU's Suffolk County Chapter at our annual meeting to discuss the controversial and ever-changing history of free speech rights in the United States.

Start: Mar 3 2012 5:00 pm

The NYCLU recently scored a victory for free speech. In 2009, we sued the City of Troy for shutting down a local art and media center on purported code violations after a cvontroversial art exhibit opened there.

In a settlement approved on Feb. 22, the city agreed to pay our client, Media Alliance, $5,000 and help it apply for a federal grant for the arts, pledging to match any grant up to $50,000.
