On Thursday, Sept. 27, NYCLU members, supporters and partners will hold an Advocacy Day at City Hall to highlight the harm stop-and-frisk abuses and related discriminatory policing practices have on communities, and advocate for passage of the Community Safety Act. The Community Safety Act is a New York City Council legislative reform package aiming to secure real NYPD accountability and transparency.
The Advocacy Day will kick off on the Broadway side of City Hall, with an 11:30 a.m. Rally for NYPD Accountability and Community Safety. The rally will be followed in the afternoon by pre-scheduled visits with City Council members to advocate for swift passage of the Community Safety Act.
If you'd like to rally with the NYCLU or learn more about the lobby visits, please RSVP so that we can provide you details of our plans.
