Our Diversity is Our Strength: Standing Together 10 Years Later -- NYC 9/11 Memorial

As we approach the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the NYCLU joins all New Yorkers in remembering the unspeakable losses suffered on that tragic day.

This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the turbulent decade behind us, and to recommit ourselves to the values that define our city and nation, including justice, equality and the rule of law.

The NYCLU and our partners in the New York Neighbors for American Values coalition are gathering in Lower Manhattan on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. in remembrance and reflection of the 10th anniversary of 9/11. We welcome New Yorkers and visitors of all backgrounds who want to reflect in a way that celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of New York City.

The vigil and celebration will be held at the corner of Church Street and Park Place in Lower Manhattan. It will feature speakers, music, cultural performances and art installations. NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman will be among the featured speakers.

Performers include:
Music by The Raskol Khan
Poetry by Tahani Salah
