Amol Sinha
We are proud to announce that Amol Sinha is joining the NYCLU as the director of the Suffolk County Chapter. "I'm looking forward to taking a strong stand to protect and expand civil liberties right here in Suffolk County," he said. "I'm proud to be serving such a vibrant community and look forward to working with our members to fight for justice and fairness." Born in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey, Amol earned a B.A. in journalism and economics from New York University and a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he focused on constitutional rights and litigation. During college, he worked at various nonprofit organizations including the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. He also taught journalism to inner-city high school students. After his second year of law school, Amol interned at the ACLU's National Legal Department, focusing on national security and First Amendment litigation. He is interested in the intersection of civil liberties and national security, and church and state issues. Sinha also serves as the Vice President of Public Interest for the South Asian Bar Association of New York.
