The NYCLU seeks a diverse group of current law students for Summer 2026 Internships. During our 10-week program (May 26, 2026 to August 7, 2026), the interns will engage in legal research and writing to support litigation, advocacy, and legislative priorities across New York State. This intern will be based in the Education Policy Center of NYCLU.

The NYCLU seeks a diverse group of current law students for Summer 2026 internships. During our 10-week program (May 26, 2026 to August 7, 2026), the interns will engage in legal research and writing to support litigation, advocacy, and legislative priorities across New York State. Strategist (Racial Justice)
The Strategist will play a pivotal role in advancing the Racial Justice Center’s mission to achieve the NYCLU priorities with an emphasis on Indigenous Justice for our Tribal and non-Tribal Native people in New York State. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing campaigns to drive strategic change.
Senior Staff Attorney/Staff Attorney
The NYCLU seeks an experienced, innovative, and dynamic racial justice legal expert who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced organization. The staff attorney will have a particular focus on the intersectionality of racial justice with NYCLU priority areas, such as environmental racism, Indigenous rights, and restorative justice.
Digital Strategist (Multimedia + Engagement)
The Digital Strategist (Multimedia + Engagement) is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital content across various digital platforms. In addition to developing creative campaigns, this role includes on-camera video work, graphic design, and basic video editing for digital outputs.
Richard Feldman Legal Fellowship
The NYCLU seeks exceptional candidates for its inaugural Richard Feldman Legal Fellowship, a two-year term limited position focused on litigation and related advocacy supporting the NYCLU’s key strategic priorities. The fellow will primarily focus on the rights of LGBTQ communities and gender equity.
Research Assistant
The Research Assistant will work under the direction of the Executive Counsel, unless reassigned based upon organizational needs. The Research Assistant may be required to collaborate with leaders and staff across the NYCLU to ensure that the NYCLU has an integrated approach to address injustice.
