Marie Holmes

Marie Holmes is a writer in the communications department at the NYCLU. She is the former parenting reporter at HuffPost, and her journalism and essays have also appeared in Scary Mommy, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and The Washington Post, among other publications. Her creative writing has been published in literary journals and won awards. She spent years teaching Spanish and English Language Arts in the New York City public schools.

Marie earned a B.A. in Spanish language and literature from Columbia and an MFA in fiction from Sarah Lawrence College.
