Nathan Stewart

Nathan serves as NYCLU’s Senior Major Gift Officer, focusing on building meaningful connections with donors to help secure the resources needed to sustain our work in service of communities across New York. He values the opportunity to engage NYCLU donors and supporters in ways that move beyond transactional giving and invite them to be part of a collective movement for justice and wealth equity. Nathan has over seven years of experience in frontline fundraising and grant management in higher education, most recently serving as a fundraiser at Cornell University. He believes that meaningful change begins when those with resources see their role not as benefactors, but as co-stewards in building a more just and prosperous community.

Nathan studied Kinesiology and Physiology, earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his master’s from Rutgers University. As an undergraduate, he focused on increasing queer and trans representation in the sciences. When not working, he can be found in East Harlem with his newly adopted cat, Pearl.
