Drea Herrera

Drea Herrera is a Queer, Arab, Latinx coffee-addicted New Yorker who also happens to be a Senior Organizer at the NYCLU. Drea specializes in immigrants’ rights organizing. She is particularly passionate about dismantling systems of mass detention and deportation and building a more inclusive New York for all. Drea has an MSW from Columbia School of Social Work, where she also served as a Teaching Associate for Human Behavior in Social Environment (HBSE) courses. Prior to joining the NYCLU, she taught art at KIPP Washington Heights Middle School, where she developed and implemented a curriculum on identity and social justice.
