Jenna Lauter

Jenna Lauter is an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union, sponsored by Advance and Ropes & Gray LLP. She focuses on policy advocacy challenging family separation and surveillance at the hands of the family regulation system (“child protective services”), along with other reproductive rights and justice issues.

During law school, Jenna participated in the Community Advocacy Lab Clinic, where she researched and strategized to combat fees charged to incarcerated New Yorkers. She also interned with the Mecklenburg Defenders, Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Brennan Center for Justice, and New York Civil Liberties Union. Prior to law school, Jenna worked for several years in government, politics, and advocacy at the city, state, and national levels. She is a graduate of Barnard College (’13) and Columbia Law School (’21).
