Jesse Barber

Jesse Barber is a Research Analyst in the Legal Department where he supports voting rights, immigration, and criminal legal litigation through research and data analysis. Prior to joining the NYCLU, Jesse graduated from Brown University with a degree in Urban Studies where he focused on the history of structural racism in 20th century urban policy. He continues to help run an organization that assists in freeing undocumented immigrants from ICE detention as they fight their cases. In his work, Jesse works to understand structures of white supremacy in order to dismantle them and work towards a transformative future. In his free time, Jesse enjoys playing basketball, reading fantasy novels, and cooking.
