Jessica “JP” Perry is a Skadden Fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union where she focuses on defending the rights of immigrant youth and their families through educational advocacy and civil rights impact litigation.
Before joining the NYCLU as a fellow, Perry worked at the Southern Poverty Law Center, Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady, and interned with the Honorable Ronnie Abrams in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. During law school, Perry participated in the Immigrant and Non-Citizen Rights Clinic where she defended non-citizen clients in deportation proceedings. She also represented low-income clients in administrative hearings on public benefits denials and long-term suspensions, and served as a Managing Articles Editor of the CUNY Law Review. Prior to law school, Perry worked as a rural organizer in West Virginia and a paralegal at the NYCLU.
Perry received a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in 2009 and received a J.D. from CUNY School of Law in 2018.
