What’s the film about? Alex Gibney, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," writes, produces and directs "Taxi to the Darkside," a riveting documentary that examines the death of a civilian Afghan taxi driver at the hands of United States soldiers. The film takes an unflinching and often disturbing look at the Bush administration’s torture policy through never before seen images of the Bagram Air Force Base and the Guantanamo Bay prisons and interviews with former government officials, prison guards and interrogators. Why should you attend? Torture is wrong under any circumstances for any reason. The U.S. government and military have committed acts of torture as part of their “war on terror.” The ACLU and the NYCLU are working to expose these torture cases and the officials responsible for them. You deserve to know the whole story about the Bush administration’s torture policy and how it’s being carried out. Your voice is powerful. You can speak out and stand up against torture.
