Town Hall: Brownsville

November 14, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

Schools should be places where students are included, respected, and supported. But in New York, students lose hundreds of thousands of days in the classroom each year because of suspensions, often for normal youthful behavior.

These punishments disproportionately impact Black and Latinx students and those with disabilities. They can also push students into the school-to-prison pipeline.

Join students, organizers, advocates, and policy experts to discuss the impact that policing has on students in New York City.

This event is part of a series of town halls taking place across New York State.
