Legislative Joint Memo on Reproductive Freedom and Access for All

In June 2022, the Supreme Court ended the federal constitutional right to abortion, handing the power to determine whether abortion is legal to the states and stripping millions of their reproductive decision making. In the wake of that decision, newly enacted laws across the country have left one third of people with the capacity for pregnancy living in states where abortion has been banned or severely restricted.

As we continue to grapple with the devastating loss of our federal constitutional right to abortion, we must fight for a more just and equitable future for all. It is in that spirit that we welcome the following Assembly bills and support their passage.
