About 1,000 People Rally in Albany for Gay Marriage
Roughly 1,000 gay-rights advocates rallied at the Capitol Monday, hoping to convince the GOP-controlled Senate this is the year to make same-sex marriage legal in New York...Ross Levi, executive director of the Empire State Pride Agenda, said members of the LGBT community and their friends and allies, such as the New York Civil Liberties Union, had a simple message to deliver to government officials: "We will not be disrespected by our own government. We will not be second-class citizens here in our own state," he said.
