Comments on Proposed Rules n Discrimination Based on Pregnancy, Childbirth, or Related Medical Conditions
The NYCLU and ACLU submitted comments strongly supporting the New York City Commission on Human Rights’ Proposed Rules on Discrimination Based on Pregnancy, Childbirth, or Related Medical Conditions. Notwithstanding the enactment of the federal law against discrimination more than four decades ago, pregnancy discrimination remains distressingly common. These comments will highlight some of the rules’ key provisions and recommend a few areas where the rules could be strengthened.
