School Districts Revising Registration Forms
Some Mid-Hudson school districts are revising their student registration forms after the NYCLU said certain questions could deter undocumented students from enrolling. The New York Civil Liberties Union said that one in five districts statewide, including nine locally, made requests of new students that could violate the rights of undocumented children. In 1982, the Supreme Court ruled that denying undocumented children a public education violated the 14th Amendment.
