In the midst of the current public health crisis, New York schools have shifted to remote instruction, students have limited access to resources to prepare for exams, and administering the Regents exams safely may be impossible. Instead of relying on the high stakes Regents exams, the Board of Regents should allow students’ progress to be determined by those who know them best: their teachers, counselors, and other educators.
