Freedom to Be: Quilt Making Event

Join us for an inspiring and creative afternoon at the Brooklyn Museum as part of the ACLU’s trans joy campaign, Freedom to Be! This special event invites members of the trans community and allies to come together, share stories, and design quilt panels celebrating individuality, resilience, and the freedom to live authentically.

Event Highlights:

  • Panels created during the event will form part of a monumental quilt installation to be displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, March 30, kicking off Trans Day of Visibility.
  • The quilt will spell out Freedom to Be with contributions from trans individuals and allies across the country responding to the prompt: What does the freedom to be me look like?
  • Free access to the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday February edition after the event.
