Protect NY’s Public Schools from Private Voucher Programs Breakfast Briefing

A new federal law takes effect in 2027 that would create the first-ever nationwide private school voucher program. New York must decide whether to opt in.

The NYCLU is joining NYSUT and the Education Law Center to present a panel discussion on January 28 at 8 am at the Empire State Plaza in Albany on the problems with private school vouchers and why lawmakers should ensure New York never adopts a voucher scheme. Join us for an informational breakfast briefing hosted by NYSUT where we’ll examine:

  • How the federal program works and what opting in would mean for New York
  • Fiscal lessons from states that have implemented voucher schemes
  • What the research says about voucher impacts on students and communities

Note: RSVP link will take you to a third-party website.

As bold as the spirit of New York, we are the NYCLU.
