On Saturday January 10th at 1pm, the NYCLU, together with PFLAG NYC, The NEW Pride Agenda, and Trans formative Schools, along with other local partners, will hold a Rally for Trans Kids at Union Square in New York City.
The U.S. Supreme Court will soon be hearing two cases that will shape the future of transgender people in this country: West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox. The final rulings of these two cases will severely impact the future of trans people’s access to healthcare as youth and young adults. Ahead of these cases and in the midst of continued attacks on gender-affirming care, we are joining together to clearly say: trans people deserve dignity, respect, and equal opportunity.
NYC has a responsibility to lead, gather, and support trans youth, standing as a beacon and safe haven where every young person is seen, protected, and empowered. By joining, you are part of a coalition of youth, parents, caregivers, organizers, community members, and elected officials rising in solidarity to demand that we center equity, dignity, and the well-being of trans youth.
Together, let’s ensure that New York City is a place where trans and all people can continue to live, love, belong, and thrive. Together, we will win.
