Understanding Your Gender-Affirming Care Rights Workshop

Join Caribbean Equality Project and Make the Road NY for a Know Your Rights workshop that provides community members with critical information on accessing gender-affirming healthcare in today’s evolving legal and policy landscape. As harmful policies affecting transgender and LGBTQ+ communities continue to evolve, understanding your rights has never been more important. This workshop will provide transgender, gender non-conforming, nonbinary (TGNCNB) individuals, immigrants, and allies with critical information about accessing gender-affirming healthcare, navigating health insurance, understanding legal protections, and responding to discrimination in healthcare settings.

Attendees will hear directly from advocates and legal experts from the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and The Legal Aid Society, who will provide guidance on patients’ rights, healthcare access, legal protections under New York law, and what to do if your rights are violated. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussion, and connect with organizations providing affirming healthcare, legal, and community support.

Please note: RSVP link will take you to a third-party website, zeffy.com
