New York State Police - Misconduct and Discipline Data
Civil Liberties Union
Between January 2012 and May 2015, the Albany Police Department reported 122 citizen complaints (equivalent to roughly one complaint per nine officers annually), resulting in 209 investigated allegations. Fifteen percent (31 allegations) were sustained, with either the officer or agency found at fault.
Disciplinary actions were only provided for allegations where there was found to be a “violation of rules.” Of these, eight resulted in training, three in disciplinary charges, one in a letter of counseling, and the remaining nine had no disciplinary outcome entered.
