The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) Capital Region Chapter today released a study to examine the ways in which Albany and Schenectady police departments handle encounters with persons with mental illness — and whether new policies and practices might improve the outcomes of such encounters.
This project was made possible through a grant from Disability Advocates, Inc., although the opinions expressed in the report do not necessarily reflect the opinions of that organization.
