NYCLU applauds Federal Court of Appeals ruling in Martha Stewart case
Agreeing with the NYCLU, the United States Court of Appeals ruled on February 18 that the federal judge overseeing the Martha Stewart trial had improperly excluded the press from the jury-selection process.
In an op-ed published on January 26, the NYCLU had called the judge’s exclusion order a violation of the First Amendment and a dangerous step towards secret criminal proceedings.
