Mayoral Forum Candidates headshots in a grid.

The Forum

On June 2, 2025 the NYCLU, the NAACP New York State Conference, and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art hosted a mayoral forum at The Cooper Union's Great Hall. Candidates were asked about their positions on a variety of civil rights, civil liberties, and good government issues.

NYC Mayoral candidates describe the issues they would prioritize in their first days in office and why.

Candidates outline how they would respond to the Trump administration's threats to federal budget cuts.

Candidates detail how they will defend the city's sanctuary laws and protect immigrant New Yorkers.

Candidates outline some of their biggest, boldest ideas for improving and protecting public education.

Candidates outline the steps they would take to protect the human rights of incarcerated people in the city.

NYC Mayoral candidates answer how they will hold the NYPD officers accountable for misconduct and address racial disparities in policing.

The mayoral candidates highlight the specific areas of environmental justice they would prioritize.

Ranked choice voting lets you rank up to five candidates running for the same position, from your top choice to your fifth choice. You can still pick just one person to vote for or rank fewer than five people.
