Book Bans in New York

Students deserve to see their diverse experiences and communities reflected in the classroom. But right-wing extremists across the country, including in New York, have aggressively pushed to suppress books about communities of color and LGBTQ+ people. Banning certain books, ideas, or themes threatens students’ rights and makes it impossible for schools to help students become informed, well-rounded adults. That’s why we are fighting these bans in courthouses, the statehouse, and schools. Tomorrow’s leaders deserve a censorship-free education today.
