Biometrics in Schools Ban

Schools should be safe environments for young people to learn, play, and grow. As New York has started to recognize, subjecting students to invasive biometric surveillance technology is directly at odds with that goal. S.9643 / A.6720 would codify and expand upon the regulations created by the Commissioner of Education that banned the use of facial recognition in schools, prohibiting public, private, and charter elementary and secondary schools in New York from purchasing or using biometric surveillance technology.
