Empire State Licensing Act

Immigrant New Yorkers are eager to contribute to the state’s economy, yet many are barred from obtaining specific professional licenses that would allow them to fully participate in the workforce. The Empire State Licensing Act, A.675 (Cruz) / S.1086 (Rivera), would address issues hindering immigrant New Yorkers’ ability to obtain professional licensing by providing all New Yorkers with access to professional, occupational, commercial, or business licenses, permits, certificates, or related registrations regardless of an applicant’s immigration status.

As bold as the spirit of New York, we are the NYCLU.
