Gender-Affirming Care: Non-Discrimination and Insurance Coverage

In this moment, New York must show up for our transgender, gender non-conforming, nonbinary, and intersex (TGNCNBI) communities by enacting S.9275 (Rivera) / A.6596-B (Rosenthal) to codify our existing public and private insurance coverage requirements for gender-affirming care and to fortify our Human Rights Law’s protections against discrimination in health care settings. The NYCLU strongly supports this legislation and urges its immediate passage.
