Lead Notifications: Increase Awareness of Lead Dangers in Homes

The worthy push by localities across the state to remove lead from people’s homes has caused a host of unintended consequences. Across the state, parents are getting kicked out of their homes and even threatened with having their children taken away because – unbeknownst to them – their homes have dangerous levels of lead. Instead of punishing them and pushing them into the street, New York must make sure we support families who – through no fault of their own – are living in lead-positive homes.
