Brigid Stegemoeller

Brigid serves as NYCLU’s Assistant Director of Leadership Giving within the Development Department. She joined the organization as a Major Giving Officer in 2021, and now develops and oversees the NYCLU’s strategy to engage major donors. Previously, she served as a Development Officer at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and managed corporate partnerships at JustLeadership USA. Brigid is passionate about building authentic, meaningful connections between the people close to wealth and power and the organizations dedicated to creating a just, equitable, and thriving society. She believes that through honesty, vulnerability, and empathy, the NYCLU and ACLU can build a community of supporters who engage in mindful philanthropy. She values the opportunity to work with donors who acknowledge that their freedom and wellbeing is intertwined with that of their neighbors around the world, and redistributing wealth to fuel the strategies from those closest to the problems in our society is necessary to build a peaceful and prosperous community for us all.

Brigid studied Community Psychology at DePaul University, with minors in American Politics and Women and Gender Studies. When she isn’t working, she can normally be found savoring an artistic experience someplace around New York City, whether it be at Lincoln Center, House of Yes, or Prospect Park. She lives in Ridgewood, Queens with her boyfriend, Jordan and their two cats.
