Courtney Colwell
Courtney Colwell (she/her) is a Legal Fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union, where she works on policy and litigation related to the criminal legal system and conditions of confinement. During law school, Courtney interned with the ACLU’s National Prison Project, the Bronx Defenders, and the Urban Justice Center. She also led the Economic Advancement Pro-Bono and participated in the Community Law Clinic to assist individuals with clearing their criminal records. Prior to law school, Courtney was a Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellow at the Congressional Hunger Center. Courtney graduated with her B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and her J.D. from Stanford Law School.
