Drea Herrera
Drea Herrera is a Queer, Arab, Latinx coffee-addicted New Yorker who also happens to be an Organizing Campaign Strategist at the NYCLU. Drea specializes in immigrants’ rights organizing. She is particularly passionate about dismantling systems of mass detention and deportation and building a more inclusive New York for all. Drea has an MSW from Columbia School of Social Work, where she also served as a Teaching Associate for Human Behavior in Social Environment (HBSE) courses. Prior to joining the NYCLU, she taught art at KIPP Washington Heights Middle School, where she developed and implemented a curriculum on identity and social justice.
