Melissa Avilez Lopez

Melissa Avilez Lopez is a Data and Research Strategist in the Legal Department. Her work consists of conducting data analysis to support voting rights, police accountability, and criminal legal system reform. Melissa graduated cum laude from Connecticut College in 2023 with a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics where she focused on the relationship between economic growth and income distribution in Latin American countries. Originally from Peru, Melissa is a proud immigrant. She firmly believes in the power of research to address racial inequality and advocate for justice. In her free time, Melissa she enjoys travelling, cooking, and gardening.
