Soleiman Moustafa

Soleiman joined the NYCLU Legal Department as its primary investigator in June 2019. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in political science, and then earned a scholarship for a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from New York University. Soleiman has expertise in immigration, racial justice, healthcare, and criminal legal issues. He worked on refugee resettlement in Jerusalem, and in New York City as an AmeriCorps fellow with the International Rescue Committee. He comes to the NYCLU with two years of legal experience preparing detained immigrants’ asylum and family reunification applications for the public defender’s office in Brooklyn.
