Zach Ahmad

Zach Ahmad is a policy counsel at the NYCLU. His work focuses on state and local policy and legislation to protect the rights of immigrants, including policies that disentangle local authorities from immigration enforcement, and other issues relating to civil liberties and due process. He played a central role in shaping and successfully advocating for passage of Green Light legislation to make driver’s licenses available in New York State regardless of immigration status, and has helped develop and push for local laws preserving immigrants’ rights in New York City and other areas of the state. He is a graduate of CUNY School of Law and George Washington University.
