Letter: Senate Must Act to Protect Students (Rochester Democrat and Chronicle)

To the Editor:

As the legislative session draws to a close, the state Senate has unfinished business that would leave New York state’s public school children vulnerable to bullying and harassment at school.

The Dignity for All Students Act will provide teachers the tools necessary to confront and prevent bullying and harassment in the state’s public schools. The Assembly has passed the bill multiple times, but the Senate has yet to vote on it. Local senators Joe Robach and Jim Alesi should support this bill. By acting now, our senators can help ensure that all students enjoy safe, nurturing schools.
