Amicus Brief: NY Boss Bill

The NY Boss Bill protects the right of all New York workers to keep their personal reproductive health care decisions private and free from employer scrutiny and reprisal. Choosing whether, when, and how to have children is a decision for individuals and families, not their employers – and no worker should ever have to worry about being demoted or fired just because their employer disagrees with their personal reproductive health care choices.

The NYCLU amicus brief below provides further insight and context into the history of discrimination based on sex, reproductive capacity and decision making – as evidenced by necessary and responsive developments in the law and examples from across the country.

As bold as the spirit of New York, we are the NYCLU.
