Caroline Cotter

Caroline Cotter joined the NYCLU in 2015 and served as Deputy Director of Development for six years. Previously she was Senior Development Officer at the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC), which promoted the sexual and reproductive rights and health of women and girls globally, and Program Coordinator at CREA, a feminist women’s human rights organization, based in New Delhi. Cotter served as trustee at the Manhattan Country School (MCS) for eight years, chairing the Board Development Committee, and serving on the New Director Search Committee and the Comprehensive Campaign Council.

Cotter taught in PreK - 3rd grade in progressive New York City schools for six years after earning a B.S. with honors from Harvard College in Social Anthropology and a Masters in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Bank Street College. She lives on the Upper West Side and in Sullivan County with her wife, Laurie, and their little dogs, Gus & Romy.
