NYCLU 2023 Legislative Priorities Snapshot

Founded in 1951, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU, or ACLU of New York) is a nonpartisan organization with regional offices across our state and more than 180,000 members and supporters. We defend and promote the fundamental principles and values embodied in the Bill of Rights, the U.S. Constitution, and the New York Constitution. These include freedom of speech and religion, and rights to privacy, equality and due process of law, with particular attention to the pervasive and persistent harms of racism.
