Elected Officials, Community Members, Advocates to Attend Bronx Public Forum on LGBT Families

Tomorrow, elected officials, community members and advocates will attend a community forum in the Bronx to discuss the challenges facing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families after the passage of Proposition 8 in California and as same-sex marriage becomes a central issue in the election of a new New York State senate majority leader. The Bronx is home to more lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families than any other borough. Yet, homophobia and stigma levels remain high, and many Bronx LGBT families struggle to receive the services they need and are entitled to.
