NYCLU Invites Local Families to Join Effort for Marriage Equality

On Saturday, October 13, the New York Civil Liberties Union and the Empire State Pride Agenda and the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn invite lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families to share their stories to help raise awareness about marriage equality for same-sex couples.

Families will bring photographs to create a scrapbook page for the Family Photo Album, a statewide campaign organized by ESPA and local activists across the state that showcases the diversity of New York families. Saturday’s event is an opportunity for families to become involved in their community and participate in efforts to help all New York families secure the protections of marriage. The NYCLU and ESPA thank the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn and Rev. Cari Jackson, interim senior pastor, for hosting the event.

The NYCLU is among the state’s most committed advocates for the legal rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender New Yorkers.
