
Letter to Governor Cuomo: Labor is Labor
The New York Civil Liberties Union joined dozens of organizations in urging to Governor Cuomo to stop abusing incarcerated people's to mass produce hand sanitizer in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
The letter argues that incarcerated workers - who are paid roughly 65 cents per hour - must be paid fair wages for their labor, and that forced labor in prisons and jails must come to a stop.
