Letter to NYSED on Remote Learning Concerns

The New York Civil Liberties Union wrote a letter to New York State Education Department Interim Commissioner Shannon Tahoe about our concerns regarding remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NYCLU has collected over 500 survey responses from across the state regarding New Yorkers’ experiences with remote learning during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Based on our findings, our letter urges action to ensure: (1) that all students have equal access to the various technologies that make effective remote learning possible, and (2) that adequate and uniform privacy.
