NYCLU Student Chapters to Meet

On October 9, 2004 ACLU college chapters in New York State met at the offices of the NYCLU for the Student Chapter Conference. Over 30 attendees representing chapters at New York University, Columbia University, Brooklyn Law School, Touro Law Center, Vassar College and Albany Law School spent the day discussing recruitment strategies, planning for future collaborative work, and strategizing for civil liberties campaigns in the year ahead.

In addition to discussing their own plans and strategies, student representatives met with NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman, Legislative Counsel Robert Perry, Program Coordinator for The Capital Punishment Project Abbi Ferguson and Staff Attorney Beth Haroules.

The event was by facilitated by Nina Maturu, Student Chapter Coordinator.
