Ranked Choice Voting: What You Need to Know

In 2019 New York City voters approved a ballot measure that allows ranked choice voting in certain elections. 

Ranked choice voting lets you rank up to five candidates running for the same position, from your top choice to your fifth choice. You can still pick just one person to vote for or rank fewer than five people. Read the PDF below to learn more about ranked choice voting in New York.
